Comet Tails Blow In Direction of Travel

In the opening credits of Star Trek: Deep Space 9, you see a comet speeding along its orbit around its star. It’s tail blows back and the camera goes through it. One problem: a comet’s tail mostly flows away from the sun, not in the direction of travel. I’ve seen other shows and movies make the same basic blunder. Its a small one, but it bugs me to see people still making this blunder despite the three major comets we’ve seen in the past 15 years.
